Poppy Charm

Poppy Charm

$42.00

Poppies have long been symbols of sleep, peace and death. Opium can be extracted from them, which acts as a sedative (hence, sleep). Poppies were common sites during World War I, especially on the Western Front where they flourished in the soil churned up by the fighting and shelling. Allied propaganda posters used the poppy to recruit soldiers and encourage people to buy war bonds. This flower represents August birthdays.

The ring on this charm has been left open (not soldered) so it can be put on a charm bracelet or on a necklace chain. The sterling silver charm is 1/2 inch in diameter and is hand-engraved.

These charms can be added to any charm bracelet or also work beautifully as a pendant. As a pendant, you can wear a single charm, or several (e.g., a birth flower for each family member). These charms also make beautiful earrings, or can be turned into a ring. To order a charm bracelet chain, necklace chain, earwires or upgrade to a ring, please see the Add On category on this page.
