Small Sea Turtle Pendant

When I visited a sea turtle rehabilitation center in Topsail, North Carolina, I was struck by the majesty of these creatures and knew I needed to incorporate them into my designs. I used small blunt tools and thousands of hammer blows to hand-sculpt this sterling silver pendant from a flat sheet of metal. By working freehand, without the use of molds, machines, or stamps, each piece becomes a one-of-a-kind work of art. Measuring just over half an inch in diameter, this unique pendant hangs delicately on an 18-inch sterling silver chain.
